I have a Google Business Profile for the start point of my first tour. I now have a second tour which starts in a different location but I’d like to have a Google Business Profile for that start point too. Can anyone who has experience of this tell me how to set it up? I can’t add it as an additional business to my existing profile as the ‘business name’ is the name of my first tour so that won’t work with a different tour. Any ideas anyone? Many thanks
Hi @mrsamandaarmstrong I think the two options here would be to create an additional Google Business Profile (GBP) for the new tour or change the existing GBP name to something more overarching so that you can then add all your tours as locations for that business. I do think the first option will give the tours more visibility but let’s ask some other publishers as well. @clive I know you’ve shared your experience with Google Business Profile before, do you perhaps have any suggestions here?
Something else to consider is making sure that all the major landmarks on your tours are linked to Google Things to Do. This helps increase discoverability across both Google Maps and Google Search. You can read more about how to do this exactly on the Publisher Documentation here: Adding your tour to Google Things to Do » VoiceMap Tour Publisher Documentation
I have done this for three tours but I created a new business listing at each start point. They are all under my one gmail email account though. I don’t think there is a way to add another business listing to the original one as the actual title of the listing is the route like you mentioned. @mrsamandaarmstrong
After creating the listing (For example, “Start point for the Voicemap Audio Guide of Cádiz”), I then used G maps to follow the route around the city and added “suggestions” for the monuments that were not already claimed. Uploaded an image, added the URL to my specific web page about the monument etc etc. Google accepted 90 percent of the changes so now my website visitingcadiz.com has some nice backlinks from G maps. It is really important that the links are 100 percent relative to the G place on the map. For example on my voicemap audio guide we walk past and I talk about the famous ficus trees of Cádiz, I added a URL to this already existing place on Gmaps but the URL was my specific page about those trees. Google seems to love the connection and relevance and quite rightly so.
