Before final publishing I like to watch a friend take the tour with me. I walk behind them to make sure all of the directions are understandable. Since the tour isn’t published, they don’t have access to it, so I give them my password credentials, and they listen on my account.
I trust them but it’s certainly not a best practice.
I will walk it on my own first time or with my husband, he will tell me if there are misdirections. I have had some others test but usually after it is published. Sometimes I test it twice.
I don’t know which plan you’re on with VM, but typically my editor provides me with 10 codes that I can share with any of my ‘testers’. I have also invested in purchasing a bundle of credits that I can assign to any of my tours even before they’re officially published. They have been well worth the low-cost investment. I think I paid .69 per credit once and .89 another time.
Hi @dan yes, @amyemcmahon is correct, you can use the ten free “Feedback” credits you’ve been allocated for any of your tours. These are perfect for testing purposes (which is why we’ve renamed them, they were previously called “Promotional” credits). But you can also use them to share with friends, family, colleagues, or your online audience once the tour has been published to help get some reviews and share your new tour.
