A reminder that next week, from Monday December 1st to Friday the 5th, is tour optimisation week at VoiceMap. Our editing team will be switching their focus from publishing new tours to improving and optimising our 2,000 published tours.
We’re making time for maintenance because our tours continue to sell for years after they’re published. In fact, most sell more three years after they were published than they did in their first year. We’ve looked at the data recently, and the average age of 2025’s top 50 bestsellers to date is 3.4 years. Despite this, their earnings this year account for 42% of their total earnings since they were first published.
So, next week, our team will be going through our entire catalogue to identify the best opportunities to apply our updated tools and improved publishing process. If you’ve been considering updates to any of your existing tours, this might be an ideal time to prioritise that work.
If your tour is currently awaiting review, your tour editor will be in touch to give you an update on estimated review dates for your submissions. You can of course use the time to refine scripts, test with text-to-speech audio or record your script.
