Do you have any advice on this?
Hi Gary
There’s no magic number or exact science for what price to sell your tour. Some variables include how many other published tours are available in that city, how long is the tour, the quality and uniqueness of the content, and the inclusion of music and sound effects to help immerse the listener even further. A large portion of our sales come from OTA’s such as TripAdvisor, which sets a minimum tour price of $5.00, so between $4.99 to $6.99 is a good place to start. Perception is important. A tour priced too low might be perceived as lower quality. You can always raise the price when you get some good ratings and reviews.
Place and amount of tours are also good metrics to go by. A tour in Cape Town probably won’t sell for the same price as a tour in Zurich. Driving tours are generally priced higher than walking tours, because they take more effort to create and have lower amounts of sales as one person will buy a tour for four people to listen to in a car. If you’re still unsure, check with your editor. They’ll be happy to help you.
