Is there a best practice for when a location on your tour closes? I imagine I’d want to update the tour eventually, but in the meantime hate to direct someone to a closed building. There is a museum on my tour that has closed. Is there somewhere to add a note in the tour description until I have time to update the tour?
Hi @sfimporter,
Yes, you can use a temporary notice to let listeners know of the closure. We usually use temporary notices for disruptions like roadworks, renovations, or special events that might affect the tour. So, this is not a permanent solution but will give you some time to update your tour. To add a temporary notice:
- Go to “Your Tours” in your publisher dashboard
- Click on “Distribution” for that specific tour
- Select “Temporary notice”
- Write a brief message about the closure
- Set a display period (they automatically expire after 90 days)
- Submit for review
You’ll get an email to tell you that it’s been approved, and your notice will appear on the tour’s cover page in both the app and website. Just make sure to mention that this is a permanent closure, not a temporary one and try to update your tour within 30 days to avoid confusion. You can read more about temporary notices on our documentation:
