Indoor Tours Webinar: Recording and Key Insights Now Available

Hi everyone!

As promised, the recording and highlights from our recent webinar on indoor tours are now live!

In case you missed it, here’s what we covered:

We shared why indoor tours are a priority right now - in Rome, for example, they account for half of all downloads, despite making up just a third of available tours. Our returning user base has grown from 23% to 36% in two years, showing that our listeners are ready for more of VoiceMap. The potential in indoor attractions like the Smithsonian (16.8 million visitors annually), Sacré-Cœur (11.5 million), and the British Museum (6.5 million) offers a great opportunity to expand your tour offering.

We also showed the indoor tour player in action - listeners can easily navigate with images, on-screen directions, and the location carousel. We demonstrated how simple it is to create an indoor tour in Mapmaker. And don’t forget our 100% royalties program for indoor tours at free attractions if you publish by July 31st!

The highlight for me was seeing so many of you join and the great discussion during the Q&A!

Some of your questions covered:

  • You don’t need formal permission from museums to create an indoor tour - VoiceMap tours are digital publications, like podcasts or guidebooks
  • Indoor tours are often easier to update than outdoor ones, since there’s no GPS
  • Small spaces work well if there’s interesting content - think cathedrals or historic halls
  • Even open-air markets can be a great fit for the indoor interface
  • Listeners can easily switch between indoor and outdoor tours because we filter tours by location in the app
  • Unsure if a stop on your walking tour should be its own indoor tour? Use a manual location for a quick stop; create an indoor tour for a space with multiple points of interest that can work as a stand-alone tour

You’ll find a full recap of the Q&A and more insights on the blog post.
